Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- Today Gran Acuario Mazatlán fills with celebration, music and color to invite its visitors on an extraordinary journey through “The 5 Carnivals of the World”, an experience that celebrates the joy, the cultural diversity and the passion behind one of the biggest festivities on the planet.
This themed tour carries the public through the vibrant energy of Brazil, the elegance and mystery of Venice, the unmistakable rhythm of New Orleans, the overflowing joy of Barranquilla, Colombia, and ends with the pride, the tradition and the one-of-a-kind spirit of our beloved Mazatlán Carnival.
Each carnival on display holds history, identity and artistic expression, and today they come together in a single space to celebrate the music, the creativity and the color that make carnival a cultural expression unlike any other in the world. As part of the experience, visitors can admire the spectacular costumes of the carnival queens, true works of art that reflect the splendor, the fantasy and the talent surrounding this great celebration.

At the opening event, Simon Norris, General Director of Gran Acuario Mazatlán, welcomed the guests and thanked the Kings and Queens of past carnivals for their support and willingness, stressing the importance of preserving and sharing these traditions that are part of our identity. Rafael Lizárraga Favela, for his part, highlighted the history and cultural value of the carnivals that make up this exhibit, and recognized the work of Luis Antonio Ríos “Momo”, whom he thanked for outdoing himself with every assignment, saying this experience will delight the public and become one more reason to visit Gran Acuario Mazatlán.

The special guests were Desiré Velázquez Ayón, Queen of the Floral Games Centennial 2025; Viviana Avena, Carnival Queen 2017; Karina Dueñas, Floral Games Queen 2001; Víctor Quiroz, Carnival King 2023; Paco Vazga, Carnival King 2020; Jorge Gárate, an artist from Mazatlán, and the tenor Jorge Echeagaray, all of whom graced this colorful event.
